Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Zakariya Al Salam is the Chief Medical Officer of Aldara Hospital and Medical Center. In his capacity as CMO, Dr. Al Salam will lead the clinical operations ensuring high quality, efficient care coupled with unparallel patient experience.

Dr. Al Salam is a consultant neonatologist and an experienced healthcare executive leading clinical operation with a focus on evidence based practice, high quality and value based care. His commitment is to provide exceptional quality of safe care with compassion, dignity and respect

Dr. Al Salam brings over a decade of healthcare leadership experience and more than tow decades of clinical experience. In his most recent role, he served as the Chief Medical Officer at Saudi German Hospital- Dammam. In this position he oversaw the medical staff, admissions, inpatient director, and Allied Health. Prior to Saudi German, Dr. Al Salam spent five years working as Department Head and Medical Director for various private hospitals in the UAE and in Saudi.

Dr. Al Salam started his career at Prince Sultan Medical City-Riyadh, Saudi Arabia where he was trained in general pediatrics then he moved to Edmonton-Alberta-Canada where and got master in basic science and fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine. His focus then was on studying, clinical skills and research methodology that resulted in excellent patient care and several publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Dr. Al Salam holds Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from King Faisal University and a Masters in Basic Sciences from University of Alberta. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health (UK) in addition to being certified in Medical Quality from American Board of Medical Quality. He also holds pediatric boards from Saudi Commission for Health Specialization, Arab and Jordanian Medical Council and finally the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health.
